CANWNT ‘Summer Farewell Series’ kicks off huge summer of football

Canada Soccer today announced a special ‘Summer Farewell Series’ that will include two Women’s National Team matches against Concacaf rival Mexico at home in early June. The two-match series, co-presented by CIBC and Visa, will form a key part of Canada’s preparations for this summer’s premier international women’s soccer competition: the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in late July.

The Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team will open the series against Mexico on Saturday, June 1 (2:00 p.m. ET) in Montreal, Quebec before moving to Toronto for the second match on Tuesday, June 4 (7:30 p.m. ET). Tickets will go on sale to the public on April 27 through canadasoccer.com.

“We are excited to reconnect with our fans after some fantastic home games at the end of 2023, which really kicked off our 2024 Olympic campaign,” he said. Bev Priestman, coach of the Women’s National Team. “The tremendous love and support for this team was felt from coast to coast and this window will be a great opportunity to send this team in style to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Mexico has recently shown that they are a difficult team to face, that “It is exactly what we need before finalizing our Olympic roster and continuing to evolve and cement our tactical identity before July 25.”

The ‘Summer Farewell Series’ will serve as an opportunity for fans to watch and show their support for the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team before they embark on representing our nation on the biggest international stage this summer.

“We are delighted to be back home to help bid farewell to our defending Olympic champions, as they continue their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” he said. Daniel Michelucci, Director of Operations of National Teams. “Confirming these opportunities requires a huge amount of work behind the scenes and I want to thank all the staff who helped make this happen. We know that the fans of Montreal and Toronto will come out to make these games special.”
