Two West Australians win Division Two prizes in $60 million Powerball jackpot

While no Australian took home a Division One prize in Thursday night’s $60 million Powerball jackpot, a couple of West Australians scored some very handy paydays.

As many as one in six Australians were predicted to enter the draw in the hope of winning the fourth-largest jackpot offered by any lottery game in the country this year.

Two WA ticket holders respectively pocketed $142,219.05, for a total of seven domestic winners.

Lotterywest revealed more than 207,000 WA winners shared prizes across all divisions.

With Division One winners not announced, the Powerball jackpot will increase to a whopping $100 million next week.

Lotterywest acting chief executive Lorna Pritchard said that in light of Thursday’s result, the next draw could mark a milestone for the state.

“There is now a chance we could create a new WA Division One record with a profit of $100 million next week,” he said.

“WA’s biggest Division One win is $80 million Powerball prize shared by group of women from northern suburbs gym in 2021”.

While individuals may feel like unlucky losers, Ms Pritchard said “more than $11 million was raised for community groups” through Lotterywest’s grants programme.

The most frequently drawn numbers from the main barrel are 17, 7, 3, 9, 2 and 11.

On the contrary, the numbers drawn less frequently are 33, 15, 31, 26, 8 and 1.

February’s historic $200 million Powerball drawing awarded $100 million each to two East Coast players.

This year, six lucky division one Powerball winners have collectively taken home more than $270 million, with three wins each in Queensland and New South Wales.
