This is the first on-screen partnership between the famous True Beauty star and The Golden Spoon actress. On May 9, an inside image from the set of the upcoming romantic drama Family by Choice was shared online. The photo showed the main couple Hwang In Yeop and Jung Chae Yeon posing together with a fan. Both stars sported adorable smiles, generating excitement for their upcoming on-screen appearance.

Family by Choice is an upcoming coming-of-age drama that will focus on the ups and downs of teenage life. The narrative will describe the reunion of three childhood friends who meet again after 10 years. Although they are not related by blood, they form a beautiful bond, trusting each other despite their parents’ scars and life’s setbacks.

Hwang In Yeop will return after almost 2 years, transforming into Kim San Ha, a model high school student. Her character is plagued by the whereabouts of a mysterious 10-year-old boy.

Although the actor once again plays the role of a great scholar, similar to his popular True Beauty character, this drama is expected to present him in a more complex way.

Former IOI member Jung Chae Yeon, known for The Golden Spoon and The King’s Affection, will take on the role of Yoon Joo Woon, an optimistic teenager and daughter of a noodle street vendor.

The friendship group would be completed by actor Baek Hyun Sung, known for Gaus Electronics. He will play Kang Hae Joon, a teenager known for his charm and great disregard for difficulties.

The Family By Choice narrative is expected to take an exciting turn with a possible love triangle between these three. The first look of this upcoming youth drama has already been revealed, generating excitement about the on-screen synergy of the three stars.

Family by Choice will premiere on JTBC and the release date will be officially announced in a few weeks.
