Ama Sey blames me for her defeat in the PNP primaries – Kate Gyamfua

The national women’s organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kate Gyamfua, says former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Mercy Adu-Gyamfi, also known as Ama Sey, has been avoiding her.

According to her, all attempts at rapprochement following the consequences of the 2020 parliamentary elections have been useless.

Madam Gyamfua said the former MP blames her for her defeat in the party’s parliamentary primaries in Akwatia.

When a call is received to Ama Sey, the NPP women’s leader said, she will hang up immediately when (Sey) hears her voice.

Mrs Gyamfua expressed her willingness to reconcile in an interview, although she has not offended Ama Sey.

“For us to maintain power, everyone must be involved and everyone that the PNP has offended must forgive. For example, the only person who doesn’t talk to me is Ama Sey. I’ll show you the text messages I sent him after this; “She called her and when she heard my voice she hung up,” she said.

Madam Gyamfua said she will not give up her efforts to reconcile with Ama Sey

“I am going to look for pastors to guide me, so that I can go and apologize to her for all of us to work together in unity before the general elections in December,” said the PNP National Women’s Organizer in an interview on the program based in Accra. Peace FM.

Ama Sey made history in 2016 by defeating former NDC MP Baba Jamal in a close contest to become Akwatia’s first female MP.
