Find out what the 16th Bangladesh Denim Expo was like

Bangladesh Denim Expo, an international platform promoting Bangladesh denim industry, has just closed its 16th edition which took place on May 6-7, 2024 at ICCB, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The two-day event organized by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange hosted more than 60 exhibitors from 11 countries showcasing their latest denim products, fabrics, accessories, chemicals and technologies in line with the main theme of this edition: Reimagine.

The program of the commercial event was enriched with four panel discussions, two trend seminars and a closing ceremony, where a list of internationally renowned panelists shared their knowledge.

Among others, the show featured distinguished speakers such as Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Honorable Minister of Textiles and Jute, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh; Irma van Dueren, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh; Siddiqur Rahman, former president of BGMEA; Mannan (Kochi), president, BGMEA; and Abdullah Hil Rakib, Vice President of BGMEA and CEO of Team Group.

“As a safe and compliant sourcing center, I request buyers to choose Bangladesh and pay a fair price. The garment industry is a crucial force for Bangladesh’s economic progress. I am sure that with the influence of the garment industry, Bangladesh will progress significantly to become a developed country very soon,” said Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Honorable Minister of Textiles and Jute.

“Bangladesh has made impressive progress in economic development indicators. The clothing sector has been crucial to this progress. In the coming years, our focus in the sector will increasingly focus on sustainability and circular practices everywhere,” commented Irma van Dueren, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh.

“We are now incorporating automation and preparing to acquire greater market share globally. We are making consistent efforts on business sustainability and are optimistic that we will be able to add even greater value in the coming years,” said Mannan (Kochi), Chairman, BGMEA.

“Bangladesh’s RMG industry continues to be a driving force behind the country’s economic growth and Bangladesh Denim Expo has a mission to expand and evolve the industry’s growth,” said Mostafiz Uddin, Founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE). ).
