Dublin weather: Met Eireann flags hottest day of year so far in solar burst forecast

A sweltering week is ahead, as Met Eireann has revealed when the hottest day of the year so far will arrive in Ireland.

Temperatures are forecast to rise to a scorching 22 degrees on Friday and Saturday with plenty of sunshine and dry spells. Met Eireann also warned of high pollen levels over Wednesday and Thursday, as hay fever sufferers were urged to take care.




Today will be cloudy in many areas, but there will be some bright or sunny periods. The highest temperatures will be around 16 and 19 degrees.

Tonight will be dry with a mix of clouds and clear spells. There will be a small chance for some areas of fog and fog to form. Temperatures will reach minimums of 5 to 9 degrees.

Tomorrow will be a dry day with some good sunshine, although hazy at times. It will be a warm day with temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.

There are no further forecasts for Dublin, but here is what the national outlook says:

“Friday night will be dry with long clear periods and some fog and mist formation. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees with light southerly breezes.

“It is likely to remain dry in most areas on Saturday night with some clear spells, although there is a chance of some showers or showers, mainly in the south and west. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in the south are light or with variable breezes.
