Preity Zinta did not let Abbas-Mustan speak during their 15-minute chat session; The directing duo REVEALS why she was perfect for Soldado

Preity Zinta’s ‘badbad’ landed her role in Soldier alongside Bobby Deol

Abbas-Mustan cast Preity Zinta in his film Soldier opposite Bobby Deol. In a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Abbas revealed that producer Ramesh Taurani arranged a meeting with Preity, who was initially supposed to work on a film directed by Shekhar Kapoor. However, filming for that film had not yet begun.

Mustan recalled his meeting with Preity at Taurani’s office and mentioned, “We zamaane mein auditions hote nahin the (In the past, there were no auditions).”

He described how she sat in front of them, talked continuously for 15 minutes and didn’t let them say a single word. “In those 15 minutes, usne itni badbad ki and humko ek word bokne hi nahi diya usne,” she said. Despite this, they instantly liked her and felt she was perfect for the role, noting her cheerful and natural demeanor.




The duo further revealed that Taurani signed her for a three-film deal, which included Soldier, Kya Kehna and another project.

Preity Zinta’s work front

Preity is all set to return to the big screen with Rajkumar Santoshi’s next project Lahore 1947. A few days ago, she dropped fun pictures of BTS from the sets. The photo album opens with the Aamir Khan Productions board and the name of the film and the director. It also mentions that the renowned Santosh Sivan serves as the cinematographer.

It is followed by a selfie with Preity and Rajkumar Santoshi. Next was a happy photo followed by a sign that said “HMU Base.” There are no phones on set. Sharing the album, she wrote, “On the set of Lahore 1947 #newmovie #shoot #ting.”

The film, starring Sunny Deol in the lead role, is produced by Aamir Khan. The 1947 Lahore film also features Sunny’s eldest son, Karan Deol.
