Wednesday casts Billie Piper and Joanna Lumley for season two

Netflix has chosen Billie Piper and Joanna Lumley for the second season of Wednesday. And it seems that fans won’t have to wait too long for the next season, as filming has already begun.

Tim Burton’s Chill Addams Family Wednesday’s Netflix adaptation saw huge success after releasing its first season in November 2022. On May 7, Netflix revealed the series regular and guest cast for the next season of the spinoff series, which Ortega leads in the main role.

In a cast reveal on YouTube, Wednesday’s star chose a script from season two, which read: “Chapter One: ‘Here We Grieve Again,'” which was written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Burton.

He doctor who The star, however, will join the season two cast as a new series regular as Capri, along with returning stars Ortega, Emma Myers (Enid), Joy Sunday (Bianca), Doohan (Tyler), Victor Dorobantu ( Thing), Moosa. Mostafa (Eugene) and Georgie Farmer (Ajax), according to Deadline.

Meanwhile, Absolutely fabulous’ Lumley will join the season two cast as Grandma in a guest role, along with other guest stars Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Joonas Suotamo. Fred Armisen returns to his role as Uncle Fester, with Christopher Lloyd, who played Fester in the films, also guest starring in the series.

Regulars in the new series will also see Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor; as well as Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gómez Addams), Isaac Ordóñez (Pugsley Addams) and Lewis-Nyawo, who were previously recurring guest stars.

Production on the second series has already begun in Ireland and is scheduled to premiere in 2025. Ortega recently showed fans behind the scenes, as she donned her signature black braids and dark clothing for the role in an Instagram post.

However, fans hoping for a sapphic romance in season two will surely be disappointed, as Ortega put to rest rumors about her potential romance with Wenclair.
