Heinrich MalanIreland men’s head coach said:

“We have an intensive block of T20 cricket this month ahead of the T20 World Cup – we have seven games in 15 days in preparation for the tournament. However, we will not treat those seven games as warm-ups, but will try to win as many games as possible.

“The T20 format is a fast-paced, quick-thinking style of cricket. Finding a way to win (given the often frenetic and evolving game happening around you) is a skill you can only really learn and develop on the playing field.

“The team is one we have gradually developed and tested over the last 18 months or so; the skills we need to cover are there, although we have allowed Josh (Little) to continue in the IPL until his team finishes its campaign. , so he will probably join us before the big tournament.

“We are now entering the final stretch before the T20 World Cup begins, it will be a challenging couple of weeks but we are ready to take on anything that comes our way.”
