Former secular singer Grace Nakimera organizes inaugural crusade

On May 3, hundreds of people gathered in Kinawataka-Mbuya, a suburb of the city, for secular-turned-gospel singer Grace Nakimera’s inaugural crusade, themed Tudde Eri Yesu (let’s go back to Jesus).

The event included prayers, testimonies and performances by gospel musicians.

Nakimera, previously known for songs like Kawonawo, Nvawo Nawe and anfukula, He left secular music almost 10 years ago and embarked on serving Jesus.

At the crusade, he told guests that before confessing Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, his life was characterized by drinking and witchcraft, and he said several times that he would not do so.

“Before I was saved, I encountered several attacks. “I used to drink a lot to forget the worst experiences I went through and that didn’t help me at all,” she said.

Nakimera said he is bringing souls to Jesus by preaching the gospel at the crusades.

He also runs a charity: Save the Streets. Among the activities carried out by the organization are cooking food for street children, paying school fees and comforting those who have lost hope in life.
