‘Ava and Oscar have really bonded with him’: Hugh Jackman’s children worried about the actor after Deborra-Lee Furness divorce

Legendary Australian actor Hugh Jackman’s family is reportedly rallying around the Wolverine star months after his shocking split from Deborra-Lee Furness after nearly three decades of marriage.

Hollywood insiders were shocked in September 2023 when the showbiz power couple ended their seemingly solid marriage, with Furness, 68, and Jackman, 55, jointly revealing that they had simply grown apart.

“Our journey is now changing and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” they said in a joint statement obtained by People magazine.

“Our family has been and always will be our top priority.

“We face this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”

According to Women’s Day, the couple’s two children, Ava and Oscar, are supporting their father during the shocking separation.

“They know him better than him and surprise him constantly,” a close friend of Jackman told the publication on Monday.

“They’ve become closer than he could have imagined and he can rely on them, whereas before he turned to Deb.”

The magazine also alleged that Ava is worried about her father’s sadness and initiated a plan to “save dad” with her brother.

“Ava and Oscar really bonded with him and that had a big impact. He always looks very happy when he is with those two,” the source claimed.

The information comes weeks after the star posted a series of cryptic posts on Instagram that caused some fans to worry about Jackman’s well-being.

Jackman, 55, shared a bizarre slideshow consisting of two photos and an extremely short video clip to his 31.8 million followers last month.

The post was titled “More!” with the first snapshot of Jackman containing a blurry close-up portrait with his hand on his chest.

The second image was another grainy snapshot of the actor seemingly caught off guard with his eyes closed and the final post was simply a one-second clip of a flat.

She also notably skipped the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony for her friend and ‘Australia’ co-star Nicole Kidman last weekend.

Jackman, who appeared with Kidman in Baz Luhrmann’s 2008 epic, skipped the star-studded ceremony but posted a brief tribute to Nicole via social media.

“Congratulations Nic!! Very well deserved,” the actor wrote on Instagram stories.

Despite the concerns, a source close to Jackman told the Daily Mail that the actor is “doing well” and is focused on reprising his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie scheduled for release later this year.
