A surprising update has been revealed about a beloved The Block cast member and his career.

To the disappointment of many fans, Keith Schleiger will be stepping back from his full-time role on the popular Australian television show.

A Nine spokesperson told The Herald Sun that the 50-year-old, known as Foreman Keith to The Block fans, is looking to spend more time with his young family.

“With The Block filming on Phillip Island this year, Keith had to step away from his full-time duties due to his commitment to raising his two daughters,” the spokesperson shared.

“He couldn’t come to the island for three months straight. It was literally a bridge too far. But Block fans will be delighted to know that he has been involved in the filming of our 20th season as a special guest.”

The 20th season of The Block will film on Philip Island in Victoria later this year, but Schleiger can no longer endure the frequent two-hour drive from his home in Melbourne.
