How did social media users react?

The images angered social media users who condemned the woman. “Wow. Don’t these bastards realize there are cameras everywhere? Facilities that care for helpless or unresponsive individuals must be thorough in hiring and ensure background checks are completed. That poor child,” posted an X user.

“Thank God for the cameras. These people should never be alone or unsupervised if they are new employees. You don’t know them from Adam. I hope she is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. “I will never be allowed around children again,” added another.

“I’m so sick of seeing this kind of shit! Some people are just evil! joined a third party.

“Life sentence for Arianna Williams. What’s scary is how often things like this happen but aren’t reported. What is also scary is that school teachers and professors do similar or worse things to children, which is never punished. Be careful who you trust your children to,” she wrote a fourth.

Farhiya, the boy’s Somali-American mother, told WCCO that she “cried and screamed” after seeing the video of her son. She enrolled her son at the center after he was diagnosed with autism last year.

According to the outlet, the now-former worker accused of the assault allegedly sent a text message to a co-worker after being fired. “He had never intentionally hurt anyone. He was just having a very bad start to the week,” he wrote.

The center said Williams was fired immediately and police were also called. In a statement, the center added that they are “cooperating with the investigation and their priority remains the safety and well-being” of their clients.
