The two-time Oscar winner has vehemently denied all previous allegations of sexual assault and was found not guilty of accusations by four men in an English court. Addressing the allegations again, Spacey told Wootton: “Even if it had happened… it would have been just embarrassing but not criminal. This was also happening at the height of the MeToo hysteria, so it all sounded worse.”

“I take full responsibility for my past behavior and actions. But I cannot and will not accept responsibility or apologize to anyone who has made things up about me or exaggerated stories about me,” Spacey told Wootton. “Were there times when he was flirting with some of the people on those shows who were in their twenties?

“Yes. Have I ever been involved with another actor? Yes. Did I make a clumsy advance on someone who wasn’t interested as it turned out? Yes. That may not have been the best decision and it’s not one I would make.” today, but what happened was not illegal, and it has never been claimed to have been illegal,” he added.

In a tweet after the interview was uploaded to Dan’s X account, Spacey wrote: “I will no longer be speechless. Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to watch this interview.”

The Channel 4 documentary features ten men who were involved in a sequence of events with Spacey, nine of whom have never previously been named. The stories span more than five decades involving both straight and gay men, and many allege on camera that there were situations instigated by Spacey that made them feel uncomfortable.

“I have consistently denied – and now successfully defended – numerous allegations made in both the US and the UK, both criminal and civil, and each time I have been able to obtain evidence that undermines the allegations and a jury of my peers found me has believes. “

Through his lawyers, Spacey also said that he has been publicly exonerated and cleared of all criminal charges against him in the United States and the United Kingdom. He denies engaging in sexual harassment or other unlawful conduct in connection with House of Cards. He acknowledged participating in “a pervasive culture on set that was full of sexual innuendos, jokes and innocent antics, but that never sexually harassed anyone.”
