Jurgen Klopp extends offer to incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot with one condition

“No problem, I’ll give everything I know.”

Liverpool head into their penultimate home game of the season against Tottenham tomorrow, knowing that Klopp’s fairytale farewell to winning the Premier League title would require a miracle.

But Spurs’ defeat to Chelsea on Thursday night confirmed the Reds’ qualification for the Champions League.

The German insists “the pressure is off” and that means he can now enjoy his final three games in charge of the Reds starting tomorrow with the visit of Spurs before a trip to Aston Villa and then a game at home against the Wolves.

“That’s definitely my idea. “It would be crazy if I didn’t,” she stated. “It takes a bit of convincing to be happy with qualifying for the Champions League, but it is still allowed.

“It doesn’t help to lose the next game, especially at home, and lose against Aston Villa and Wolves. So it’s not enjoying in some way. It’s football. The only way to enjoy football is to win games and that is what we will try. That’s why we really train.

“Let’s prepare the boys, take advantage of the time we have now and see what we can do. But my plan is to enjoy it.”

While Champions League qualification may be a success, the Reds were hoping for a quadruple moment after winning the Carabao Cup in February and looked like they could win the title, FA Cup and Europa League.

But with a young squad and a revamped midfield, Klopp believes his successor can continue to build and does not see his departure as a need for that to stop.

And he added: “We tried to win the league but it didn’t work, but we also have to look at it in the long term. Liverpool 2.0 does not end with me.

“It’s just the new Liverpool. It’s just the beginning, you can take the next steps.”

And the Kop boss is confident Mo Salah will be here to help as he insists their row on the sidelines during last weekend’s 2-2 draw against West Ham was “resolved”.

He added: “Mo as a player is incredible and I don’t think he should talk about that (his future), other people will decide that, especially Mo, I have no sign that it won’t be like that.”
