Kareena Kapoor is Kiran Rao’s latest celebrity fan Ladies Laapataa, which premiered in theaters earlier this year and is now off Netflix. Kareena Kapoor joins the long list of celebrities who loved the film, including Alia Bhatt, Sunny Deol, Priyanka Chopra, Rajkummar Rao, Salman Khan and Karan Johar. Kareena Kapoor, on Friday, shared a picture from the film on her Instagram stories and wrote, “What a gem… Take a bow.”Ladies Laapataa stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam.

The film, set in rural India, shows the story of two girlfriends who get separated during a train trip and which leads to a complicated journey. The film has been co-produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions.

The film opened to very positive reviews from film critics. Reviewing him for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave Ladies Laapataa 3.5 stars out of 5 and wrote: “Adapted from a story by Biplab Goswami and scripted by Sneha Desai (who also wrote the dialogues with additional input from Divyanidhi Sharma), Ladies Laapataa It is a social satire with a marked feminist accent that gives meaning to the film. The film is happy and light. Therefore, you are never in danger of becoming bogged down by the important questions you address. Her simple call to action is for the rights of women who are robbed of their dreams after marriage and is formulated in simple methods that do not seek to draw too much attention to themselves.”
