Address challenges affecting Nigerians, Ekiti PDP tells APC

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government to address the challenges bedeviling the state and the country at large.

The PDP, in a statement by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Raphael Adeyanju in Ado Ekiti, yesterday said Ekiti workers celebrated this year’s Workers’ Day with sadness due to the numerous challenges affecting them.

The PDP lamented that Nigerians are facing a barrage of challenges such as kidnapping for ransom, food crisis, poverty, banditry, hunger and many others.

The party said: “The condition of civil servants and pensioners in the state is one of the worst in Nigeria” and called on the APC-led government to address the issue.

Reacting to the ongoing fuel shortage and overall high cost of living in the state, the PDP spokesperson said the situation has become unbearable.

“This terrible situation has come to a head in Ekiti State. A liter of petrol currently sells for between 1,000 and 2,000 naira, the cost of transportation is terrible with a deplorable road network.

“Our people now struggle with poverty, the high cost of living and the general state of insecurity.”
