Kwesi Pratt talks about threats from his detractors

The Editor-in-Chief of Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has expressed concern over how some members of the opposition party are attacking him for praising the Akufo-Addo government.

In an interview on Accra-based Peace FM, he said such intolerant behavior hinders the country’s progress.

“This morning I was asking Nana Akomea why the government has made all these massive investments in the country’s education sector, but very little is heard about them and people are attacking me.” Mr. Pratt wailed.

He cited the construction of new scientific laboratories as an example of positive developments in education to reinforce his point.

However, Pratt said he has been receiving threats for praising the government for the good work it has done.

“I didn’t even say much. I will be afraid the next time I want to share my opinion. I was isolated for a while. When I got back, my phone started ringing and people were asking me, “Where did you get your stats?” Why did you say those things? Fear took over me. I couldn’t even use my own mobile phone. They wanted to know the basis on which I made the statement. One person in particular who called me said, ‘You, we’ll get back to you.’ You are speaking for the PNP, but is it wrong to speak on behalf of the PNP?” -she asked.
