Sigrid Göransson Sustainability Award 2024 for the digitized recycling program for used carbide tools

The 2024 “Sandvik Sustainability Award in Memory of Sigrid Göransson” was awarded to the team behind a digitized tool recycling program for customers that has had a substantial impact on waste reduction.

By working closely with customers, a team across Sandvik Machining Solutions divisions has further developed its long-established buyback programs to take back customers’ used carbide tools and recycle them into new products. Aiming to recover more than 90 percent of carbide volumes sold, the team developed a digitized solution with several benefits. Through a self-service portal, the recycling process has been simplified for customers. Sandvik’s traceability has also increased.

The winners of the 2024 “Sandvik Sustainability Award in Memory of Sigrid Göransson” were announced at the Sandvik Annual General Meeting on April 29.
