The company commemorated this achievement at a special staff meeting, where Teopister Nakyanzi from Luweero District was revealed as the lucky 20 millionth subscriber. Theopister, along with his son Joshua, expressed their joy at being part of this historic event. “I am delighted to be a part of this momentous occasion and incredibly grateful for the recognition from MTN Uganda,” she shared. Joshua, with a touch of humor, noted the fortuitous link between his age and the milestone and stated, “Maybe I’ll be the one celebrating 30 million!”

Yolanda Cuba, Vice President of MTN Group for Southern and Eastern Africa, emphasized the importance of this achievement. “Reaching 20 million customers is equivalent to the entire population of another African nation; That’s how remarkable this milestone is.
